Welcome to the home page of the Farmington Girls Fastpitch Softball (FGFS) league! This page is dedicated to keeping you up-to-date on upcoming events and/or announcements concerning our league. Check back often to see what new and exciting things are happening at FGFS!
Take a look at the FGFS section of our website and you will see that 2012 and 2013 were exciting and history-making years for Farmington softball! In 2012, for the first time in history, a Farmington softball team was crowned District 5 Champions! Our 9/10 All-Star team went undefeated in District play, beating Wallingford, Bristol and Berlin (3 times) to bring home the D5 banner. The team did so in convincing fashion, outscoring our opponents 59-2 over the 5 games, with 3 no-hitters and 2 one-hitters! The team placed 4th in Sectionals (Section 1) and ended up finishing in the top 10 in the State of Connecticut! 2013 brought more of the same success as our 9/10 All-Star team went undefeated in District play to again bring home the D5 banner and advance to the Section 1 State finals!
We look forward to building on our recent success in 2017, and more change is on the way! For the Spring 2017 season, we will continue to play as part of an Intertown League comprised on teams from Districts 5, 6, 7 and 8. These include Avon, Canton, Burlington, Simsbury, etc. We will also have set practice and game nights each week! Our weeknight games will be against the more "local" teams with a little more travel for weekend away games. We have been playing in the Intertown League for a few years now (both Spring and Fall) and the feedback has been very positive.
Please have a look at our web pages. Here you will find information concerning registration for 2017, try-outs for the Majors division, determining your daughter’s LL Age, useful links, and a coaches corner. Additional pages will be added/updated throughout the year as needed.
